'The X-Factor' Is Coming to Crocker Park

Fox’s newest reality show, “The X-Factor,” is searching for talent at . The show, produced by Simon Cowell, will be holding auditions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 10 at 174 Main Street.

Four winners will be featured on the "Fox 8 News In the Morning" show and get passes to cut the line at auditions in Chicago April 27.

Singers or groups 12 years or older will get to perform for 30-seconds, a capella, for a panel of judges. At 6 p.m., the judges will pick two finalists from each category (boys, girls, adults and groups) based on their originality, personality, creativity, inspiration and imagination. The panel will then pick one grand prize winner from each category.

Lindsay Rubin, marketing director for Crocker Park, said they’re expecting at least 2,000 people to come out and plan to have one or two extra security guards on duty.

To get a guaranteed audition, send a 15 to 30-second video to the Crocker Park Facebook page. The singer or group with the most votes will get to skip the wait to audition at Crocker Park. To post an audition video, “like” Crocker Park on Facebook and post your song on the wall. You can also click “Video” at the top of the page to record on a webcam.

Submissions must be posted by 5 p.m. April 8. You must be 12 years or older to participate in the contest.

To make sure you get in, arrive before 2 p.m. as organizers may end the contest at 2 p.m. depending on the turnout. For full details on rules and regulations, see "The X-Factor" audition and registration rules.
