Poets of Lakeside Emergency Men's Shelter To Read At Sunday Sounds

The men will give readings at Porter Public Library after a service and luncheon at Westlake United Methodist Church.

at is taking a break from the regular musical programming to highlight the work of the Poets of 2100 Lakeside Emergency Men's Shelter.

Facilitator Annie Holden and two or three poets will tell their own stories and read selections of their works at 2 p.m. Sunday.

In the spring, the shelter published a soft-bound booklet of poetry, and a full book is in publication right now, said Nancy Fester, programs chair for Friends of Westlake Porter Public Library. The book should be out before Christmas.

Prior to their reading at the library, will honor the men at their 11:21 a.m. service with a lunch following.
