Musical Tour Takes Listeners Around Ireland

The Westlake-Westshore Arts Council hosted Ben Clingain's Irish Polka Band at their quarterly meeting for a sampling of Irish music.

The audience was singing and clapping along to Ben Clingain's Irish Polka Band and their songs of the Emerald Isle Tuesday night at .

At the Westlake-Westshore Arts Council’s quarterly meeting, everyone got a tour of Ireland through song, complete with a map. Anyone who could the city or county in the song being played won a chocolate prize.

Mayor Dennis Clough was the first winner for pointing out Tipperary for the British anthem “It’s a Long Way to Tipperary.”

About 50 people came out to hear songs like “When Irish Eyes are Smiling,” “I’ll Tell Me Ma” and “Meet Me in Tralee,” which is Westlake’s sister city.
