Accomplishments:
Westlake High School senior Abhi Ramachandran scored a perfect 36 on his ACT test, but doesn’t mean this stellar student will stop striving for success.

“I plan to better myself by being more independent and being more responsible,” he said. “Also, being able to balance my social life and academics and other responsibilities is something I can always improve upon.”
Ramachandran also said that wants to be challenged even further when he goes off to college in the fall. His list of prospective schools is an impressive nine deep and includes Case Western Reserve University, Cornell, Columbia and The Ohio State University, but he hopes he’ll be accepted into the Massachusettes Institute of Technology, Princeton or Harvard.
“I’m going to major in biomedical engineering,” said Ramachandran. “After my undergraduate, I want to go to medical school and become a doctor. I am not sure what specialty of medicine I want to do yet.”
Ramachandran said that his favorite subjects include science in math, although this year, he has really taken a liking to English.
Ramachandran’s other notable achievements include a position on the winning WHS boys’ tennis team, which won the conference title last year and placed eighth in the State of Ohio and awards as a National Merit Finalist and AP Scholar with Honors.
Keys to Awesomeness:
“I enjoy doing community service,” said Ramachandran, who volunteers as a patient transporter at Lakewood Hospital. He also traveled overseas to India in 2009, where he volunteered as a tutor and mentor at an orphanage.
“I am also in a lot of clubs at school, including Academic Challenge, math club, stock market club, National Honors Society and Spanish club,” he said.
Ramachandran’s favorite food is pasta with alfredo sauce and his favorite flick is a Hindi movie called, “Three Idiots.”
“As for music, I’m a pop and rap fan,” he said. His favorite artists include Eminem, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Bruno Mars, Usher, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Kesha and Far East Movement.”
