Long Ago Westlake: The Dover Chalet Restaurant and Winery

Restaurant and winery housed 100,000 gallons of wine in its cellar.

We're pulling this gem from Cleveland State University's Cleveland Memory Project.

The Dover Chalet, once located at 24945 Detroit Rd.  in Westlake was known as one of Ohio’s most unique and rustic winery restaurants.

According to ClevelandMemory.org, where this photo is now stored online, 100,000 gallons of wine was aging beneath the restaurant in the establishment's wine cellar, where visitors were welcome.
