1) The Cuyahoga West Genealogy Group is inviting everyone to at . The group is providing a social hour and refreshments at 6:30 p.m., followed by a program about the basics of family history research in England by professional genealogist Elizabeth Hauser in the Porter Room.

2) You can sign up now to learn how to make strawberry freezer jam at from 3-5 p.m. on Friday. Participants get to make and take home six half-pint jars of jam, ready to put in the freezer and save for the winter months. The $24.99 fee includes instruction, jars, lids, rings and berries. Class size is limited  to 10 participants.

3) The National Weather Service is predicting mostly sunny skies with a high near 74 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight, mainly after 2 a.m., with a low of about 61 degrees.

4) The Westlake Garden Club will host its June meeting from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Westlake Porter Public Library. The meeting is open to everyone and will include a business meeting, followed by a lunch and speaker Lois Rose presenting a program on composting.
