Youth Challenge Race Day Set for Saturday

Clemens Road will be closed starting at 8:50 a.m. on race day.

's 26th annual race day will bring together participants, volunteers, staff and friends together for a 5K run and 1 mile fun run/walk.

Clemens Road and the rest of the route along Ranney Parkway and a portion of Crocker Road will be closed for the event starting at 8:50 a.m.

The fundraising race is held each year in memory of Dave Hardman, a former board member and longtime supporter of the organization. According to Kathy Rigdon, media specialist for the group, Hardman's family is still involved with Youth Challenge.

Money raised will be used to run Youth Challenge's many programs and camps where children with disabilities can play tons of sports from basketball to ice hockey to rock climbing. Over 150 kids and young adults from all over participate each year, making lasting friendships and learning valuable skills with the help of over 400 teen volunteers.

Everyone is welcome to participate in Saturday's race, and registration is still open. Pre-registration is $15 per person and $20 on race day. Those 18 years old and under pay only $10.
