Westlake Police stopped two Texas women—a 37-year-old and a 38-year-old—who broke into a Peppercorn Drive apartment in the afternoon of Oct. 21. The older of the two had lived in the apartment before and wanted to get her furniture and other property back. Since the current resident—the woman’s former roommate—wasn’t around, police made the women put the property back.
When the police reached the current resident, she said the ex-roommate had moved out three months earlier, and that she was told not to enter the apartment unless the current resident was there. Both Texas women were arrested the next day at a local hotel and charged with criminal trespass and criminal damaging.
A 24-year-old Cleveland man who had been trying to help the women was also arrested on a Cuyahoga County probation warrant.
