Winter Wonderland in Westlake This Weekend

Snow is on the way and there are plenty of holiday events in Westlake to get you in the holiday spirit!

 

The weekend is almost here, and there are lots of fun, family-friendly events around Westlake. Check out our picks for activities you don't want to miss, and share your weekend plans in the comments!

Journey to Bethlehem: A Live Nativity

Where/When: Church of the Redeemer United Church of Christ / Friday and Saturday, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Why Go: Walk through a live, interactive recreation of the nativity featuring King Herod, Baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the magi and live animals and music. Fifteen-minute journeys will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, call 440-331-0834.

Swim With Santa

Where/When: Westlake Recreation Center / Friday, 6:30 p.m.

Why Go: Take a dip in the pool with Santa from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center. The big guy will be collecting Christmas lists and spreading holiday cheer throughout the Aquatics Center.

Gingerbread House Workshop

Where/When: Dean's Greenhouse & Flower Shop / Saturday, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Dean's Greenhouse and KidzArt are hosting a gingerbread house workshop for kids in grades 1 through 6. Everyone gets to take home their completely edible house, while adults can get some last-minute shopping done. Cost is $38 per child. Visit www.kidzartoh.com for more information.

WHS Jazz Ensemble & Patriot Band Christmas Concert

Where/When: Westlake Performing Arts Center / Saturday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: Don't miss the Westlake High School Jazz Ensemble and Patriot Band performing their Christmas concert from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Civic Youth Ballet of Cleveland Presents 'The Nutcracker'

Where/When: Westlake Performing Arts Center / Friday, 7 p.m. and Saturday, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Come enjoy the classic Christmas ballet The Nutcracker, put on by the Civic Youth Ballet of Cleveland and Wilhelm Dance students.
