Borders Group Inc. announced Monday that it will be closing up shop on its remaining 400 stores before selling itself to a liquidation group, according to reports from Reuters.
The Borders location at the Promenade in Westlake will probably be open through September. A store employee said plans are tentative, but the store is "starting to liquidate" on Friday and continue through September.
Borders declared bankruptcy in February, closing about 200 stores. The Westlake location, along with others in Beachwood, Solon, Strongsville and Tower City were spared.

That's so sad! I always have better luck at Borders than at B&N. Hopefully something can fill the large retail space easily and quickly!

The Westlake Borders has been one of my favorite hangouts for years...it's almost like a piece of my history closing. It will be truly missed by me and so many others who love the written word. :o(

I would have to agree with Marie and Stephanie this was a great store on a great location. It was always a relaxing atmosphere there and you really could not go wrong with finding that special book at that store. I am really sorry to see it go.
