Vincent J. Scullin, 69, of Westlake, died Nov. 6 at home.

He was born on August 21, 1943, in Cleveland to Joe and Millie (Weimer) Scullin.

After graduating from St. Ignatius High School in 1961, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Detroit and a Master's of Science degree in Mathematics from Western Reserve University.

He retired from NASA Glenn Research Center in 2006 after working there for  40 years.

Scullin was a loving family man who enjoyed playing basketball and golf with friends.

In addition to his parents, Scullin is survived by his wife of 45 years JoAnne (Koster) Scullin; children Brenda Budzar (Mark), Kevin (Melanie Brandy), Sara Kephart (Todd) and Sheila (Keith Pastrick); grandchildren Zoë, Evan and Max Budzar and Henry Kephart; brothers Terry, Jim, Lee and Ken; his sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Denny Scullin.

Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at McGorray-Hanna Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at St. Ladislas Church. Interment is at Lakewood Park Cemetery, 22025 Detroit Rd. Rocky River.
