Money, Jewelry, Cell Phone, GPS Stolen in Thefts Around Town

The following information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

There have been several thefts from homes and cars around Westlake recently, Westlake Police reported.

  • A 16-year-old girl's debit card was used fraudulently five times between Nov. 13 and 29, with $575 withdrawn from her account. The girl told police that she thinks a schoolmate she gave a ride home to just before that is responsible. The investigation is continuing.
  • A $350 cell phone was stolen from an unlocked 2001 Jeep parked at a Center Ridge Road apartment building between 9:30 and 10 p.m. on Dec. 1.
  • Someone got into the garage of a Canterbury Road home through an unlocked side door on Dec. 1. They took $110 in quarters, a wallet and a GPS unit from one of the cars inside.
  • A North Olmsted woman reported that a wedding ring was stolen from her mother's Primrose Lane home on Nov. 26. She believes relatives visiting from out of town are responsible.
