Science and Sports on This Week's Calendar

Here's what's going on

  1. It's Science Week at Westlake Porter Library. The fun starts Monday as Lake Erie Nature and Science Center bring wild animals for kids to see up-close. There are other fun science-based events each day, designed to fit Westlake City Schools' S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) objectives in its curriculum.
  2. Orientations for Westlake City Schools start this week. Click here for the complete list.
  3. Practices for Westlake High School boys and girls soccer, cross country and tennis start on Monday. Go, Demons!
  4. Are you a softball player? Breakers Fastpitch Softball in North Ridgeville is hosting tryouts this week.
  5. The final Summer Concert Series performance of the season is at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the pavilion in Recreation Center Park. Colin Dussault's Blues Project will give a rollicking send-off with its harmonica-driven, blues-based, roots, rock and soul music.
