Schools Earn State's Top Rating and Other News From Westlake Patch

Here's the top stories of the past week

 
  1. Westlake City Schools were given the top rating, Excellent With Distinction, as the Ohio Department of Education released preliminary report card data. Use our interactive databases to compare districts and see how each school did.
  2. Westlake city government has some work to do before the American Greetings world headquarters project can proceed. A special meeting of the Committee of the Whole may be called in the next few weeks to discuss the bids for the general contractor.
  3. Westlake Police are investigating after two men paid Dave & Buster's with counterfeit money. The pair are believed to have spent more fake money in Sheffield Village that same day.
  4. Mike and Gerri Medoro were honored as Mr. and Mrs. Westlake by the Westlake Town Criers Monday night at Mahle's.
  5. Jennifer Kearney of Westlake pleaded guilty Wednesday to aggravated vehicular homicide and driving under the influence in connection with driving the wrong way on Interstate 90 in Cleveland and killing motorcyclist Kenneth Stith of Akron in 2011.
