Westlake school board members have set the process to find a replacement for Andrea Rocco. Rocco will be stepping down March 6 due to her new position as special counsel to Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald. Her last regular school board meeting will be Feb. 27.

Applications for the soon-to-be vacant seat on the Westlake Board of Education is available now at all Westlake Schools main offices, Porter Public Library, the Westlake Schools Administration Building and on the website.

Deadline for applications is  4 p.m. March 2. Interviews for candidates will be scheduled for the week of March 12.

The remaining board members— Nate Cross, Tony Falcone, Thomas Mays and Carol Winter— expect that the appointment will be made at the March 26 board meeting.

The newly-appointed member will finish out the remainder of the term, which runs until 2013.

All applications must be returned to the Westlake Schools Administration Building by the 4 p.m. deadline. Applications can be mailed or dropped off at Westlake City Schools, c/o Board of Education, 27200 Hilliard Blvd., Westlake, OH 44145.

The Administration Building is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
