Pumpkin Hunt Brings Big Crowds to Rec Center Park

There was loads of family fun and a full parking lot

Saturday afternoon's beautiful weather made for big crowds at the annual Fall Festival and Pumpkin Hunt at Recreation Center Park.

Rick Grane, president of Westlake Kiwanis and an auxiliary police officer working the event, said it was the biggest crowd in a few years.

"The last couple of years, we had rain or just bad weather," he said. "Today's perfect. Not too hot, not too cold, no rain."

The park's parking lots were proof of the event's popularity. Every spot was filled, and people were parking on the roads leading into the park.

There was lots for kids and families to do. The playground was filled. There were also inflatbles and bounce houses, hayrides, and the hunt for pumpkins. Some children were having fun rolling down the hill next to the field.
