Update, Oct. 30: Westlake has decided to postpone trick or treat until Sunday, Nov. 4. The original post follows below.

Hurricane Sandy is canceling flights, subway service and school as it continues to pound the east coast with high winds and heavy rain.

The storm has also prompted city officials to postpone several Wednesday trick-or-treat nights in areas in Northeast Ohio, including Beachwood, Solon, Mentor and Lakewood.

But other cities have not yet rescheduled the Wednesday Halloween celebrations, including Westlake. That list also includes Shaker Heights, Twinsburg and Avon and Avon Lake. (A full list is available on 19 Action News.)

Do you think Wednesday Halloween activities should be rescheduled or stay the same? Take our poll and tell us in the comments.

The National Weather Service's forecast for Wednesday night in Westlake calls for a high chance of rain and a low in the low 40s. Trick or treat is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in Westlake.

Definitely postpone. What will it hurt? The kids might have more fun on a day in which they are not getting drenched and blown away???

I don't want to be out in that weather; why would my kids? I vote that trick or treat be changed to Sunday in Westlake.

I vote for delaying trick or treating until this Saturday or Sunday. Why put our kids at risk of catching pneumonia from being out in the miserable, cold rain?

Reschedule for Saturday or Sunday. Why not? No point in sending the kids or parents out in the weather that is predicted for Wednesday evening.
