Paul Ryan to Speak at Rally at Recreation Center
Republican vice-presidential candidate coming to Westlake today
Republican vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan will speak at a rally at noon Tuesday at the Westlake Recreation Center.
Doors open at 10 a.m. for the rally. Security for the event is described as "airport-like." Cameras are permitted. Bags, umbrellas, liquids, sharp objects and signs are not allowed.
Ryan is coming off the Republican National Convention last week in Tampa and will be in town as the Democratic National Convention gets underway in Charlotte.
This is the second appearance by Ryan in Northeast Ohio in recent weeks. He spoke at Walsh University in North Canton on August 16.
Westlake Police reported Monday that one lane in each direction from the Rec Center east to Bassett Road will be closed Tuesday morning through the rally.
Police urge drivers to avoid the area to avoid heavy traffic.
