North Union Farmer's Market Going Inside

Crocker Park moves market indoors for the winter

The North Union Farmer's Market a summer staple at Crocker Park for several years, has a new -- indoors -- home for the winter.

Starting Saturday, Jan. 12, the market will be held from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturdays in the space between Aladdin's and Vieng's on Crocker Park Blvd. The space was where the Holiday Market and photos with Santa were held this past holiday season.

What can be found at the farmer's market in the middle of winter? According to North Union Farmer's Market, produce available includes carrots, garlic, chard, collard greens, potatoes, apples, spinach, onions, lettuces and parsnips.

The outdoor area where the market has recently been, in the parking lot behind Promenade stores such as Bed Bath & Beyond and the coming-soon Nordstrom Rack is currently being torn up. That area is part of future construction, including apartments.
