Meghan Mental has been hired as the new volleyball coach at Westlake High School.
Mental is a former Southwest Conferenece rival of the Demons as a first-team all-conference and all-district player at Olmsted Falls High.
Mental brings many positive things to the program, athletic director Tony Cipollone said. Among them, experience as a Division I player at Cleveland State University, where she was team captain in 2011.
"Meghan’s approach will be to develop the program from the bottom up in order to have sustainable success that meets the excellence of our athletic programs," Cipollone said.
Mental had recently been junior varsity coach at Elyria High, and was a club coach at Cleveland Volleyball Company.
Mental, who was a Dean's List student at Cleveland State, will be a math teacher at Westlake High.
