With the gorgeous fall foliage comes ... lots of raking.
The Westlake Service Department will begin collecting leaves from residential tree lawns on Monday, Oct. 15.
Leaf pick-ups will continue until Dec. 9, weather permitting. There is no set schedule for when leaf pick-ups will be done in specific neighborhoods or streets. On average, there's not more than two weeks between leaf pick-ups, unless bad weather creates delays.
Here are some reminders for putting your leaves out for pick-up:
- Pile leaves on the treelawn, not in the street.
- If your leaves blow into the street, push them back.
- Do not put branches or grass cuttings in with the leaves.
- Keep catch basins clear of leaves.
