Jewelry, Copper and Housewares Missing After Suspected Home, Garage Break-ins

The following information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

There were a number of suspected home and garage break-ins in Westlake in late October. Here are the details, as provided by the Westlake Police:

  • Oct 19: Copper pipe and some tools were missing from a Columbia Road home at around 10:23 a.m. The owner is renovating the home, and police think someone got in through a crawl space. The neighbor saw a grey pickup truck in the driveway at around 8 p.m. the night before.
  • Oct. 20: Someone had entered the front door of a Waters Edge Drive home by force between 4:30 and 9:30 p.m. A few rooms had been gone through, and jewelry was missing.
  • Oct. 21: A Westown Boulevard resident reported that her garage—which was locked—had been entered twice since Sept. 30, with the most recent incident on Oct. 21. Housewares and sentimental items were missing. She also found her car unlocked in the garage on Oct. 23, but was sure she had locked it.
