Jennifer Kearney Sentenced to Three Years in Fatal Wrong-Way DUI Crash

Westlake resident Kearney killed motorcyclist Kenneth Stith in 2011 crash on I-90 in Cleveland

 

Jennifer Kearney of Westlake was sentenced to three years in prison for hitting and killing a motorcyclist while driving drunk, and driving the wrong way, on Interstate 90 in Cleveland.

Kearney, 29, was also fined $1,000, according to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office.

Kearney pleaded guilty Oct. 17 to aggravated vehicular homicide and driving under the influnce in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. 

Motorcyclist Kenneth Stith, 54, of Akron was struck by Kearney around 1:30 a.m. on July 1, 2011. Stith, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

I doubt she will even serve the full 3 years. No it's not long enough.

She's drunk, goes the wrong way and kills a guy - and she get's a three year sentence?? Even 25 years would not be long enough. How could a judge come to that decision??

Disgusting. This is a failure of the criminal justice system. This woman will get out just to repeat this offense.

She will do 6 months then apply to be released on judicial since its her first offense and will be released on probation after that. She'll probably sit for 8 months total

I knew the man she killed. That is absolutely horrible. He left behind a family and she only has to serve 3 yrs!!!???
