Hyland Software Celebrates 10,000 Customers With Go-Kart Races
The unconventional software firm treated employees from offices all over the world to an afternoon of food, fun and racing in the parking lot.
The parking lot at Hyland Software sounded a little like the Indy 500 on Thursday as the international firm hosted a company-wide go-kart race in celebration of their 10,000th customer. Lucky number 10,000 is Glen Raven, a textile manufacturing and marketing company based in North Carolina.
Employees from Hyland’s offices in São Paolo, London, Tokyo and others around the world came to Westlake for the races, games and a good old-fashioned cookout.
"It’s good to stop and spend some time and celebrate with all of the people that made that happen," said President and Chief Executive Officer A.J. Hyland.
Hyland Software is now the second-largest employer in the city behind St. John Medical Center. The software firm employs 1,200 people and is hoping to keep growing with plans to hire 200 more staff members this year.
"To use a racing analogy, we're not taking our foot off the pedal," Hyland said.
