Hilliard Elementary Raises More Than $2,300 for Harvest for Hunger
The school raised enough money to buy 9,503 meals.
Hilliard Elementary School students and staff pitched in to raise $2,375.78 and 170 pounds of food during the school’s 10th Harvest for Hunger campaign.
All together, the money raised will buy 9,503 meals. Because the campaign, organized by intervention specialist Kathy Nash and second-grade teacher Jane Zellers, reached its goal of $1,500, students will be rewarded with a pajama day and sustained silent reading in a room of their choice.
Since 2002, Hilliard has collected $31,198.54 and 3,304 pounds of food for Harvest for Hunger.
