Going to a Home Football Game? New Traffic Rules Set
Construction forces changes for football games at Westlake High School
Construction of the new Westlake High School has created some issues for traffic and parking for home football games this season.
Athletic director Tony Cipollone said that parents who pick up and drop their kids off at the games will be most affected, as they will no longer be able to use the school parking lot to do it.
Starting in the third quarter of all home games, both entrances for the high school parking lots will be exit-only, except for emergencies.
Parents who drop their children off for games can use the City Hall parking lot or the Westlake City Schools Central Offices parking lot. Parents are urged to not let children younger than eighth grade come to games unattended, Cipollone added.
The Demons beat North Ridgeville, 27-6, in Friday's opener at home.
Cipollone encouraged parents and students to carpool for home games. The next home game is Sept. 28 against Olmsted Falls. That game is also Homecoming, and the same weekend as the All-Years Reunion, which means parking will likely be at a premium.
