With more than 550 people in attendance Saturday, the Crocker Cooks Casino Night benefit for The Gathering Place at Urban Active Fitness was a smash hit, raising more than $75,000

Tickets started at $75 apiece with all the proceeds going to support the local non-profit organization that provides free programs, support and assistance to those battling cancer.

"We are thrilled," said spokeswoman Kristina Austin. "It all goes to programming, so this means that many more people can get our free programs."

Participants enjoyed a night of casino games, raffle drawings and a live auction. They tried their luck, sipped cocktails and dined on gourmet, traditional and oriental foods.
