Avon Road is re-opening at the Westlake-Avon line on Monday as part of the Nagel Road interchange project in Avon.

Don Damyanic, City of Avon's project manager for the interchange project, said that Avon Road will be reopened Monday, June 18.

The Nagel Road-Avon Road intersection is closing until Sept. 1 to allow for a new phase of the project.

Opening Avon Road will allow for access to Avon Road and developments in Avon off it to Avon emergency vehicles, as well as for Avon residents to get in and out of the neighborhood.

The Avon Road-Nagel Road intersection work is expected to be done before the start of the 2012-13 school year so Avon school bus routes won't be affected.

Avon is paying to have Avon Road resurfaced in Westlake to its intersection with Bradley Road.

In the agreement with Westlake to re-open Avon Road, it was stated that the road will again be closed at the city line as soon as the Nagel Road-Avon Road intersection is re-opened.
