Fire crews from Westlake, Rocky River and Bay Village quickly extinguished an apartment fire at 5 a.m. this morning on King James Parkway.

Westlake Fire Chief Dale Kraus said firefighters were responding to a smoke complaint when they discovered a fire in a first-floor suite. The flames were contained in the apartment and extinguished within minutes.

Kraus said no one was injured. Fire crews evacuated the building for a short while.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Officials do not have damage estimates.
