This is the big fundraiser of the year for the society, said president Lysa Stanton. It helps pay the utilities at Clague House Museum, as well as fund preservation projects, educational efforts like history-themed coloring books for every third-grader in Westlake, and other community outreach efforts.

One goal of the society is to purchase Past Perfect software, designed to archive museum records and items, as well as keep records on repairs and maintenance.

In the museum, Dr. Marie Albano led a showing of vintage wedding dresses from the 1860s to today, discussing the changing styles and how everythig from the invention of the bra to World War II rationing affected how brides dressed.

Susan Hill Brown lent her mother's wedding dress to the exhibit. When Doris Hill married William Brown in 1942, she had to use clothing coupons to buy her dress, Brown said.
