Showing up for Court Drunk? Go Straight to Jail

The following information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two people showed up drunk for court hearings at Rocky River Municipal Court on Nov. 29 for drunken driving offenses.

Police report that a 48-year-old Cleveland man was intoxicated for his pretrial hearing for an operating a vehicle under the influence arrest from Westlake. And, that same day, a 39-year-old Westlake woman also showed up to the court intoxicated; she was on probation for an operating a vehicle under the influence conviction from Westlake.

Both were arrested and taken to Westlake City Jail for some “enforced sobriety.”
